Dancing with Dad.

This is done for My Minds Eye.  I love their sketches.  They usually inspire me to get pages done.  I have used a mix of MME paper.  The photos are of my daughter and my husband dancing at my niece's wedding.

Friendship Card

I am starting to really get into cards but you can tell that I have a lot to learn.   I did this for the practice and to enter Simon Says Monday challenge, stampout challenge.  I love the quote.  The picture is a stamp coloured with water colour pencils.

Card for Pagemaps

I was aiming for a more masculine card here.  Pagemaps gave the sketch and I didn't feel like doing a girly card.  Just in one of those moods I guess.   ;)

Hair clip holder

I have been wanting to make this for a while.  Simon Says  Stamp Monday challenge is all about flourishes and the penny dropped on how I wanted to make this.  The two big flourishes half hidden are the base and I added flowers and bling to dress it up.  I have a fettish with hair clips and now can keep them tidy.  Some of my clips are looking a bit battered because I just take them out and throw them in the cupboard. Problem fixed!

School Musical

My Minds Eye have the most stunning sketches.  I LOVE this one!  I have tried to do it a bit different from the sketch this week but I plan to use it again.  I love how you can mix and match the papers from MME.  All the papers and embellishments are MME. The photos are of my son at his school musical.  He goes to a Special School and all the kids were involved.  It really was wonderful to see those kids having so much fun!  Andrew was so happy to be on the stage with his friends.

Need a Cuppa? Card.

I think I am starting to get an addiction to the Simon Says Monday challenge.  I don't have time to do five items but I am enjoying getting my card collection going.  Now I have cards ready when I need them instead of scrambling to make one.   The challenge this week is 'It's a mystery'.  So for my 'mystery' item I have used the tin foil found in the top of a new Milo tin.  I wish I could just buy this stuff in bulk instead of waiting for the Milo to be used up so I can buy another tin.  Thankfully my kids go through Milo like its going out of fashion.  In fact Andrew loves Milo so much we are getting a four word sentance out of him!!!  He says "I want Milo please".  Actually it sounds more like "I want Lo pese" but a sentance is a sentance!  Anyway I put a tea set through the cuttlebug using the tin foil, then I embossed the teapot and dabbed brown and red paint on it till I was happy.  I tried to bend the teapot and cup enough to give it dimension and used foam squares to build it up.  Hopefully that is mysterious enough :)

Smile card

This is what patchwork is all about to me. The tiny pieces stitched together with love. I have done this one for the Simon Says patchwork challenge too.  I have run the embosser over it to make it look like it has the stitching all over like quilts do.

Hello friend card

I don't often do cards but I really want to get into them.  Simon Say's Stamp have this competition going where you have to do patchwork.  I want to do so many ideas but simply don't have the time.  But this is what came to mind when I read their blog.  I have never entered one of their competitions before but I ADORE some of their stamps especially the ones with matching dies. I think that is a brilliant idea and when I have saved up I plan on a mini shopping spree.  But for now I couldn't resist having a go at this card.  It is very simple I know but I have to start somewhere.  I'm a scrapbooker normally. ;)

Friends

This is based on the My Minds Eye sketch for October.  Not everything that is in the sketch is done.  I love the writing around the photo's but it just didn't seem to fit on my page.  Everything is MME except for the letters and glimmer mist.

Andrew's Big Day Out!

Wow!  What a day!  There are so many photos that I couldn't fit on the page, but these are the best photos.  I have based the sketch on one that I saw on the My Minds Eye blog.  In honor of that I have used all My Minds Eye paper and embellishments.  It was great to fit so many photos on the page.

Follow Your Dreams

This is based on MME's September Sketch.  Emmy loves horses and a friend took her to Mini Mates where they have miniature horses.  She loves going there and had a great time with both the horses and friends.  So thank you Lester for taking her and getting such great photo's for me to scrap!  The page is mostly MME with a Kaisercraft rub-on and a silver heart from one of Nanna's old necklaces.

Fun in the Park

Page Maps have a new tutorial called Page Maps University.  For this month only it is free.  I couldn't resist having a go.  I wasn't able to use an electronic cutter so had to cut every thing by hand but did enjoy making the page.  I have used MME paper and products and altered the page to suit my photos.

Scrapping Outback September Challenge

I had a chance to do the challenge for this month from Scrapping Outback.   Julie Hill designed the sketch which I have sort of followed.  The challenge also calls for butterflies and hearts to be used.   The mirror butterfly I bought from Scrapping Outback a long time ago, and the other butterflies are a die. The paper is MME.

So Very Happy.

We took Andrew to Dreamworld to see  Wiggles World.  Oh my, he lost the plot!!  He was so stunned to find Dorothy is "real", and just screamed himself silly during the dancing.  We had to do all the Wiggle rides and some of them twice.  I have used Pagemaps for inspiration.  They really have the best sketches!  The paper is Simple Stories, and I tried out my new mini film strip die.  It let me put extra photo's in of Andrew's face.  Love that boy, he really is one of a kind!

Photo Booth

This was taken at Kimberley and Shem's Engagement party.  They had a photo booth and it was sooooo much fun!!  Emmy just loved it and went in four times. Andrew didn't fit but I think he enjoyed the silliness of it.  And they may not be the most romantic pictures of us but at least we got photos together.  Usually one of us is behind the camera.

2013 District Convention

This is done based on the My Minds Eye August sketch. I love the design of the sketch.  I feel out of practice with my scrapbooking since we have been so busy this month and I really haven't had a chance to do much scrapping.  But it is nice to get back into the swing of things.

Boys Toys

I caught him on camera playing quietly with his toys one day. He is sooooo cute.

This Winter

My Minds Eye have challenged scrappers to do a page reflecting Summer if you are just finishing Summer or Winter if you are finishing Winter.  Since here in Australia we are getting warmer weather each day I have done the challenge for Winter.  So much has happened but the most amazing thing to happen was not having Andrew in hospital at all this Winter!!!  That is the first time in three years that we haven't had a hospital trip.
I feel that this page is just a tad messy but we did do a lot this Winter so I had to have quite a few photo's and it became more and more disorganized.  But I still enjoyed creating this page.

Family

This is for MME July Challenge.  Had such a great time doing this one. I really need the MME arrow stamps though. All the paper and brads are MME.

Scrapping Outback July Challenge

The challenge for the month of July at Scrapping Outback is to use winter tones.  On their blog they have the colours.    I have used mostly creams and browns but a bit of pink/peach crept in too.  The photo is of my husband and Andrew.  Andrew just loves his Daddy so much. And I adore both of them.  The paper is Prima, Songbird Collection.  The flowers are from Scrapping Outback and the lace and bling is just bits that I had lying around.
I finally have added the card.

Glasses

My little man now has glasses.  My heart cracked just a little bit more to acknowledge that one more thing is broken,  his eyes.  That may sound silly but it has been a rough six months.  But looking on the bright side he looks absolutely adorable and looks so much like his Daddy.   I love that.  I have used Bo Bunny's Anthem paper since it is a perfect match.

Surf

This is done for the My Minds Eye competition sketch.   I just adored the sketch and thought of this photo straight away.  I have used paper from a mix of collections.  I wanted to keep it mostly blue and red.  I have also used MME chipboard pieces.

Wednesday 19 June 2013

Love is

I didn't think I would get a chance to do this but managed to ignore the ironing and did this instead.  Scrapping Outback had a blog hop with amazing tutorials on dressing up chipboard.   In Julie Hills blog she put lace on chipboard and it looked stunning.  So that is what I have had a go at.  I also just inked the chipboard dress form and added a rose for effect.  The picture is of my sister with her youngest daughter Shynade.  I had fun playing with the photo to give it the old world look. So thanks to all the girls from Scrapping Outback with their stunning tutorials.   Hope you like this.

Beach Fun

My beautiful boy at the beach.  He had so much fun exploring the different texture of the sand and drawing in it. Kaisercraft paper used,  Blast Off.  Colours matched perfectly but not the theme.  I used micro beads for the big star and I love how they turned out!

Scrapping Outback Challenge

This is the first time I have done a challenge for Scrapping Outback.  The amazing Trudi Harrison has done this beautiful page and we need to find inspiration from it.  I have often seen Trudi's work and just love what she does, so Trudi if you read this please leave me some constructive criticism.  My page looks like a mess of flowers with no real order or rhythm.  The photo is of my girl Em who has the most beautiful eyes.  Big and blue. Anyway here is the layout.  And I can't seem to get the smaller photo to turn for me.

Making Rainbow Cookies

This is done just for the fun of doing it.  I used Little Yellow Bicycle paper.  The title is MFT dies, the snails have watch faces on them with beads in the face and I have also used glimmer mist spray.  Photo's of Emmy in the last school holidays making rainbow cookies.

What Do You Do With A Kangaroo?

Bo Bunny invited scrappers to make a layout with the title from a book.  I took this photo at Australia Zoo.  Seriously if a kangaroo is going to lay on the ground like that then I am going to get a photo of my daughter lying beside it!!  It was just too funny!  So I used the title "What Do You Do With A Kangaroo" from a book written by Mercer Mayer.  My Bo Bunny stash is seriously in need of restocking so I mixed and matched two collections.  Mama-razzi 2 and Vicki B.

Genuinely Andrew

This layout is based on the MME May Sketch.  I had so much fun.  This is one sketch that I think I will do a few times because I can see many variations of the sketch in my mind.  Don't you love the photo?!  Andrew was at the beach after we had been to a nursing home to visit our old neighbor.  The ladies there get a kick out of seeing the kids dressed up a bit so that is why Andrew is in good pants and a little vest.  After we had seen Mrs Stayples (which was really sad this time since she didn't really remember us) we went to the beach near the home.  It was one of those photo's that was just begging to be taken.  The page is all MME paper except the basil cardstock and the letters spelling Andrew.

Love - Emmy

These were photo's of my little girl on a spinning ring at a park.  I have no idea what you would call that round thing.  She spent ages on it getting her balance and playing.  The paper is all Kaisercraft (Summer Breeze Collection) with some older Kaisercraft stamps and a watch face filled with micro beads. I am just sorry that the photo's of the layout are blurry   It is a cold, cloudy day and I can't get a good shot.

Page Maps inspired card

Page Maps and Shanna Vineyard have asked for people to make their own stamps and use them on a layout or card inspired by Page Maps.  Since I am starting to really get into cards I thought I would do that.  It was more of a challenge than I expected.  I used a Stampin Up punch and punched a bird, then drew it onto foam and used it like Shanna suggested as a stamp.  So the background of the card is stamped all over with birds.  I wanted to continue that bird theme so I punched a bird out of the foil that seals the top of a Milo tin.  I ran it through the embosser and then dabbed brown and rusty red paint on it till I was happy.  The papers are all My Minds Eye.  It was a lot of fun stepping outside the square and trying to make a product work in more than one way.

Cool Dudes

This is based on the MME April Sketch.  I love this photo of my little ones.  We can't always convince little man to wear glasses but he loves to copy his sister.  I have used the Boy Crazy paper for this page.

Wednesday 10 April 2013

I'd love to KNOW what goes through your MIND!

This is my little man investigation an egg shell while we were making cookies in the holiday's.  He was horrified and fascinated at the same time.  It broke and cracked and was sticky too.  So interesting.

Love

It's not often that I get a photo taken of me that I think is ok.   But I love this photo of Emmy and me.  My Minds Eye directed me to this amazing place called PageMaps.  It has sketches that you can use when your brain can't think.  Anyway I love this site!!  This is a layout that I did based on one of their sketches.  I loved their use of doilies and circles.
